The Vietnamese Federation for Digestive Endoscopy (VFDE) was established in 2011 during a symposium titled “Trends in the Development of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy in Vietnam and Worldwide,” chaired by Prof. Dr. Ta Long, President of the Vietnam Association of Gastroenterology, and Dr. Tran Huu Thang, representative of the Vietnam Medical Association. The symposium gathered 106 delegates, including gastrointestinal endoscopists and representatives from 84 hospitals nationwide.

The Vietnamese Federation for Digestive Endoscopy (VFDE) operates under the Vietnam Association of Gastroenterology (VNAGE). VFDE consists of three regional branches-Northern, Central, and Southern-each functioning independently and under the direct authority of VFDE.
